2008 Eric Ross Zinfandel Old Vine, Cody's Block, Dry Creek

This Dry Creek vineyard lies in southern portion of Dry Creek, very close to the Russian River appelation where Cody Burnett, 2nd Generation grower has been walking these rows since he was a young child. Winemaking Harvest: October 2, 2008 Bottled: August 17, 2009 Cases: 140 The fruit was gently de-stemmed and tank fermented with traditional twice daily pump overs taming the tannins with splashing during fermentation. L-2226 Yeast produced a very clean fermentation retaining the integrity of the fruit with a combination of French and American barrel aging to follow. Proper balance with the quantity of new oak complimenting the fruit while not overpowering it. The result a beautiful example of Old Vine Zinfandel in a rich yet polished style.
